Rick Weldon
Rick Weldon is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing Maryland district 3B. He served in U.S. Navy (submarine service), was a Civilian employee of the Navy Department, and is a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc. He attended University of Maryland majoring in public administration. He has been a Board member of the Brunswick Medical Center, Frederick County Business Development Advisory Council, Steering Committee for Potomac River American Heritage River Nomination, Cancer Coalition of Frederick County, and the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts. He is also a member of the Republican Clubs of Frederick and Washington Counties, National Rifle Association. He was Valedictorian, Leadership Frederick County Class of 1998-99 and Public Policy Champion of the Year, Maryland Works, Inc., in 2008. Currently he is President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way of Frederick County. Mr. Weldon has also performed on stage for the past 17 years. Recent roles include Mayor of Who in Seussical, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Ed Earl Dodd in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He will narrate Aaron Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait and The Gettysburg Address, with music by Don Gillis.
