Rick Weldon

Rick Weldon is currently the administrative assistant to the Mayor of the City of Frederick. Prior to this position he was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing Maryland district 3B. He served in the U.S. Navy (submarine service), was a civilian employee of the Navy Department, and is a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc. He attended the University of Maryland majoring in public administration. He has been a Board member of the Brunswick Medical Center, Frederick County Business Development Advisory Council, Steering Committee for Potomac River American Heritage River Nomination, Cancer Coalition of Frederick County, and the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts. He is also a member of the Republican Clubs of Frederick and Washington Counties, and the National Rifle Association. He was Valedictorian, Leadership Frederick County Class of 1998-99 and Public Policy Champion of the Year, Maryland Works, Inc., in 2008. He was also President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way of Frederick County. Mr. Weldon has also performed on stage for the past 17 years. Recent roles include Mayor of Who in Seussical, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Ed Earl Dodd in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He will narrate Music of the Decades and An American Tale.
